History rocked and rock made history
during a sold-out three-gig stand at
Madison Square Garden in late February 2008 when icons Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood performed a concert together
for the first time since their all-too-brief days in the legendary Blind Faith in 1969. Whether they will ever team again is unknown. But with Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood Live From Madison Square Garden, on this Blu Ray, fans everywhere are able to experience the sound and the glory of a performance on that famous stage by two of rock's greatest artists.

 "More of EC" 2009-08-25
By Sunit Fenn (Trivandrum, Kerala, India)
The video is EC and SW centric. The rest of the musicians are not even shown. All angles on just these 2 legends. Video a dissapointment. Music is good. Rather vintage stuff but with the kind of sound and recording equipment available today, we get to listin to great sound.

"Shameful Audio - Ruins the Concert BluRay" 2009-08-23
By uthaman (Milford, MI United States)
Trust an owner of 100+ music concert DVDs and Blurays...this one is ruined by incredibly poor AUDIO.

The video is fine. The audio is a distorted mess. It isn't my system. I listen to all kinds of music and mostly hi-rez audio either in the form of SACD, DVD-A, or high definition 24-bit/96kHz or higher files. I have a great appreciation for sound.

Something went very wrong during the recording or mastering. They either used too much compression (which creates terrible distorsion)or the gain was wrong. Either way it is most noticeable on vocals...although in general the Bluray sounds harsh even at low volumes. My kids even commented.

So strike 1 - it is a Bluray without uncompressed audio as a sound choice (only DTS and PCM low rez)

Strike 2,3,4 - the sound is compressed and distorted unlike any other DVD or Bluray I've ever heard.

Such a shame. Otherwise it could have been a very nice concert Bluray.

"The gang that couldn't play bad" 2009-08-22
By Karl R. Neice (Seattle, WA United States)
Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood -- two superstars who love the blues and together with cats like Willie Weeks (Steve Wonder, Rolling Stoness) on bass Chris Stainton (Joe Cocker bandleader) on keys -- really bring this old music to life. Maybe they are not as wild or pretty as in their youth, but they play better than ever. From the first note this is a classic with nice old bluesy numbers mixed with the rock classics -- all with virtuoso chops and arrangements so tight they can't even squeak! Pleasant surprise is drummer Ian Thomas, who only has to step into such shoes as Ginger Baker, Jim Keltner, Jim Capaldi, Jim Gordon and Buddy Miles (great version of "Changes" here sung by Winwood), and does so flawlessly. I like this as much or better than the Cream reunion or the Crossroads DVDs. It's the band.

 "Fantastic DVD!!" 2009-08-20
By K. Hanna (Dallas, Texas)
I recommned this to ANYONE who is a fan of either Steve or Eric. The DVD is just amazing. Both these guys were having a blast and the music shows it well.

I won't bore anyone with the technical stuff as I always hate to read it in these reviews. Just know that if you like either one of these guys....GET THE DVD!!!!
